Supporters and opponents of the Ultra Music Festival can mark their calendars: the Miami City Commission will vote on the concert’s license at its May 9 meeting. Key Biscayne Mayor Mike Davey, joined by Council Members Katie Petros and Ignacio Segurola, urged the commission to revoke the license citing traffic and safety problems.  Miami City officials acknowledged problems but are recommending that Ultra return in 2020.  Under the terms of the City’s agreement, a revocation must be made before May 27.

Commissioner Joe Carollo, who cast the deciding vote to approve Ultra’s contract in November, now says he opposes a return to Virginia Key.
