January 9: The Impact of Gender Stereotypes on School Safety and Bullying
Key News ContributorJanuary 5, 2019
Join us on Wednesday, January 9 at the Key Biscayne Community Center’s Lighthouse Room at 6:30pm for a reception and 7:00pm for the lecture. This event is free and open to the public.
Youth are growing up in a time where the topic of gender is prevalent in the media and among their peers. While social awareness has dramatically increased, research reveals students still contend with high rates of anti-gay bullying and gender-related harassment, which can result in unsafe environments for our youth.
Come and explore ways to engage in dialogue and address questions your children may have. Presenters from YES Institute will address these timely conversations, and a guest speaker will share about their life experience.
In 2003, YES Institute added cutting-edge education courses on gender. Each year, we conduct over 200 presentations and courses for a wide variety of communities – parents and students, nurses and medical personnel, school teachers and administrators, counselors and psychologists, business executives, police departments, and other non-profits and human service organizations.
Our continuing education curriculum is accredited by the Florida Department of Health and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Courses and presentations are available in both English and Español.
This event is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, please email us at info@keybiscaynefoundation.org or call us at (305) 361-2770.
