This week’s theme was carrots! Roasted Carrots were made by Chef Ana at Key Biscayne & Leonor is trying to tackle beautiful Dill Carrots in Broward High Schools.
Wellness in the Schools has some Community Partnership news!
Hungry Harvest is donating one box of produce a week to Della Bowls, where the Della has to be creative a make a bowl with what is in the box. Every week is different. 20% of proceeds go to Wellness in the Schools for each of the bowls sold!
Wellness in the Schools was chosen to be featured at the next Sustainable SuperClub Dinner next Friday, Sept 21 for an exciting 4 course dinner, created using Hungry Harvest produce, Hammock Greens, and consciously sourced proteins. Proceeds from the dinner go directly to benefit the Lotus House, Debris Free Oceans, Wellness in the Schools, and Flipany. Eat well, have fun, and do good! Get tickets here.
We have been working with UM Food Day for a couple of years now. This year they have decided to host a panel of local non-profits, chefs, farmers, etc to talk to the students about what’s happening in their own neighborhood. Wellness in the Schools was chosen to be on the panel on Wednesday, October 24th.
