It’s City Theatre’s 25th Silver Anniversary of the SUMMER SHORTS FESTIVAL, with all the fun coming to you in the comfort of your own home!Support City Theatre by attending our Virtual Gala, SILVER SHORTS, LIVE on June 25th @7:30pm.
Silver Shorts will feature 5 short plays, special guests from around the country, and a delightful, fun evening of entertainment, while socially distanced.City Theatre will donate a portion of each ticket to these two wonderful organizations: The Adrienne Arsht Center’s premier education outreach project and the talented South Florida students who attend Ailey Camp Miami, and the South Florida Theatre League Relief Fund benefitting South Florida theatres and theatre artists who are currently waiting in the wings for the safe return to stages and audiences like you.
Ailey Camp Miami is a full scholarship, six-week summer program that has transformed the lives of over 1,000 underserved students from Miami-Dade County Public Middle schools since its inception in 2008. The program strives to provide a safe and artistic environment for students to take West African, jazz, modern and ballet dance classes while also learning about nutrition, conflict resolution, drug prevention, critical thinking and other life skills in personal development and creative communication classes.
South Florida Theatre League Relief Fund is a fund to help theatre companies provide compensation to artists and other employees that had to be laid off because shows and events were cancelled due to COVID-19 related closures.Also, with your ticket comes a discount code for 20% off for a City Theatre Signature Cocktail from our friends at Spanglish.If your ZOOM dance card is filled for Thursday, your ticket will allow you to watch the performance anytime after Thursday’s performance until Sunday night at midnight.With theatres shut down all across our county, City Theatre is asking for your SHORTS SUPPORT.
